In my office, just to the left of my computer hangs a simple, black & white picture of a rose.
It is the single most beautiful flower I have ever seen.
Yes, it is the single most beautiful flower I have ever seen.
To understand WHY I feel this way, you first have to understand how I came to own this amazing "symbol" of love.
I believe it was a Wednesday morning, which up to this point had been just like any other Wednesday, or Tuesday or, well you get the idea. But as I walked up to my desk and began to place my things on the floor, I was stopped in my tracks by this (what appeared to be a "copy", yet strikingly beautiful) rose.
It was intricately cut out, perfect around every edge as to not "remove" any of the actual flower itself. The details in this picture were amazing.
It was as if I was looking at a "REAL" flower.
I looked around to see if I could catch someone who may be watching for me to find it. Asking everyone I could bother if they had seen anything, I came up empty handed.
My curiosity was literally about to consume me.
For months afterwards I would come to my desk to find another paper flower, some large, some small, some black & white and some actually printed out in color.
What had I done to deserve this?
Why would someone go to so much trouble to leave me a flower every single night?
A lot of people laughed at me for saving my "paper flowers".
"Damn that is a cheap ass if I've ever seen one", "Can't they afford real flowers?".
I've heard it all.
But to me, they are priceless. No florist creation could EVER compare.
I have saved them all.
I keep them in a book so that I can turn to them whenever I need to feel "special".
But the first one was different and will forever have a have a place in my heart.
This "Paper Flower" will always hang to the left of my computer where I can see it, any time, any day.
A few weeks ago the flowers stopped coming.
The way they make me FEEL, never will.
Piekny.

I thind that's awesome!
Peace
Sounds like someone really cares about you but they're too afraid to really express it to you face to face.
If that happened in my office I might be one of those who cried foul, "that's so cheap, that's such a cop out", but judging by the way you describe it, the paper flowers must mean a lot to you and I guess that's all that matters in the end.
Must be nice to have admirers like that who want to brighten your day everyday. But why the hell did they stop??!!

You're a cool woman to see the flowers for what they were, a wonderful gift....and unique to the person. Who in the world would question why they wern't getting 'real' flowers, instead?
Thanks for sharing....and let us know if you ever discover who it was....
It is apparent that the sentiment means much more than your friend anticipated.
It is charming.
